Research projects in the Applied Polymer Engineering degree programme
In light of finite raw material reserves, increasing CO2 pollution and rising mountains of waste, the topic of recycling is more topical than ever before, especially with the current international rise in the number of cars.
The above-mentioned research project was carried out between 2010 and 2012 and was financially supported by the German Rubber Society DKG. Three theses were written as part of the project.
The "OptiBine" research project
The research project Optimised low-speed wind turbine (short: OptiBine) dealt with the topic of small wind energy between 2012 and 2015. It was part of the Plastics and Elastomer Technology course at the former University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (now Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt). OptiBine was funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and the Arts. The initiator and head of the project was Prof. Walter Baur (now emeritus).
