Contact angle measurement

  • In a semi-automatic process, individual drops of defined liquids are applied to the plastic surface. The contact angle of the droplets is measured using an optical system. The surface tension of the plastic and its polar properties can then be calculated using empirical models. These provide information on the wetting and adhesion of subsequent coatings, i.e. on the feasibility or preparation of finishing steps such as painting, printing, bonding, etc.
