Tasks

  • The quality of high-quality plastic components is largely dependent on the internal properties of the polymer materials. Precise knowledge of the physical and chemical properties is therefore very important in order to achieve and maintain optimum function and durability. It is also important to be able to analyse the internal properties when searching for faults (failure analysis).

 

  • There are many different test and analysis methods that can be used to obtain a picture of these material properties. In the aplied polymer engineering  degree programme, students learn in detail about the function and informative value of these methods using modern equipment and can carry out measurements themselves. This is an essential pillar of teaching in the degree programme.
  • >For companies, most analysis methods are also available to solve practical problems and issues. Enquiries about carrying out measurements in the field of materials and damage analysis are always welcome!
